A smokebox numberplate, 2898, from a GWR 2800 Class 2-8-0 built at Swindon in November 1938. Allocated new to Oxley and later, Banbury, St Philips Marsh, Tyseley, Ebbw Junction and Didcot from where it was withdrawn in October 1964 and sold for scrap to Steel Supply Co at Swansea.
