A German smokebox numberplate, 99 586, from a 75cm gauge 0-4-4-0 Saxon Meyer loco built for the Saxon State Railway by Richard Hartmann of Chemnitz, Works No 3606, in 1912. Numbered 176 when built, it became DRG 99-586 in 1925 and retained that number under the DR in 1949 until a new number was applied in 1970. It is believed that the loco still exists and is earmarked for long term preservation Cast iron, 23"x7¾", lightly cleaned. The plate is accompanied by a detailed history of the loco.
