A smokebox numberplate, 47396, from a LMS Class 3F 0-6-0T No 16479 built by Vulcan Foundry, Works No 3967, in 1926, renumbered 7396 in 1934, becoming BR 47396. A long time Bescot engine, it moved in July 1961 to Nuneaton and in March 1963 to Wolverton Works where it was employed as a Works shunter until withdrawn in the week ending 15 October 1966. It was despatched for scrap to George Cohen at Kettering on 31 January 1967. Ex loco condition. (Postage Band: D)
