A worksplate, JOHN F. WAKE, REBUILT 2432, GENEVA ENGINEERING WORKS, DARLINGTON, from an 0-4-0ST o/c built by Black Hawthorn, Works No 365, in 1876 and ordered from stock on 31 October 1876 by Bolckow, Vaughan & Co Ltd, Newlandside Limestone Quarry, Stanhope, Co. Durham and named NEWLANDSIDE. Rebuilt by Wake, probably in the 1920s, and acquired by Dorman Long Ltd on 1 November 1929. Later to Dorman Long's Leasingthorpe Colliery, Coundon, Co. Durham and to their Cleveland Steelworks at Middlesbrough, returning to Newlandside by May 1939. It finally moved to Dorman Long's Parson Byers Quarry at Stanhope in December 1939 and was scrapped there in about June 1958. Cast brass, 12"x8", the front repainted, a score mark top centre.
