A locomotive worksplate, LONDON NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY CO, No 1819, 1935, from the LNER A4 Class 4-6-2 No 2510 QUICKSILVER built at Doncaster in September 1935, one of four streamlined A4s introduced in 1935 in a stunning three tone grey livery, each with a silver related name, for working the newly introduced Silver Jubilee from Kings Cross to Newcastle. It was renumbered 15 in 1946, becoming BR 60015. It went new to Kings Cross where it spent all its working life apart from seven years at Grantham from 1944 to 1951 and a very brief period at Gateshead. It was withdrawn from Kings Cross on 27 April 1963 and cut up at Doncaster Works. Fully engraved brass, 13¼"x7¾", ex loco condition, the back stamped 15 in two places. (Postage Band: C)
