An East African Railways nameplate, MOUNT KITUMBEINE, 9653 FEET, from an EAR metre gauge Class 59 4-8-2+2-8-4 Beyer Garratt No 5917, together with its matching worksplate, BEYER PEACOCK, Works No 7648 of 1955 and its cabside and front numberplates, 5917 and EAR letters as attached to the bunker. Unusually the worksplate is present as most were removed and disposed of by the Railways while the loco was still active. All cast brass, the nameplate 60" long, the numberplates 24½" and 17¾", the letters 8½" tall, the worksplate 13½"x6". The front of the worksplate has been repainted, the rest of the set is in ex loco condition. The lot includes a book, Steam From Kenya To The Cape, by E Talbot, featuring the Class 59s & mounting board in correct livery. (Dispatch by Mailboxes/Collect from Banbury Depot)
