A worksplate, LMS BUILT 1894 Horwich. Engines built at the former Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway works in 1894 were mainly 11 Class 0-6-0, many of which survived into BR service numbered in the 522XX series, 1220 Class 4-4-0, all of which had gone by 1930 and two 1153 Class 0-4-0ST, known as pugs, one of which survived until August 1957 as BR No 51212. Cast brass, 10½"x6", the front lightly cleaned but unpainted. (Postage Band: B)
