A tenderplate, GRAFENSTADEN, 4153, 1901, from a tender built by the Alsatian Engineering Co in Alsace, the serial number of a series used only for tenders. The builders name is spelt with one F which was the German style up to 1918 when Alsace reverted to France. Cast brass, 12¾"x8¾", the front repainted. (Postage Band: C)
