A smokebox numberplate, 48759, from a LMS Class 8F 2-8-0 built to LNER order at Doncaster, Works No 1560, in 1945, becoming LNER O6 Class No 3154, renumbered 3554 in 1947 and transferred to the LM Region as 8759 in 1948. Allocated new to Mexborough on 13 December 1945 and later Ardsley, Kettering, Wellingborough and Leicester MR from where it was withdrawn on 24 November 1965 and sold for scrap to Cashmores at Great Bridge, entering their yard on 2 February 1966.
