A worksplate, LONDON NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY Co, DONCASTER, 2006, 1946 from a Thompson A2/3 Class 4-6-2 No 515 named SUN STREAM when built after the racehorse which won the 1945 Oaks and 1000 Guineas. Allocated new to Heaton in October 1946, it moved in July 1952 to Gateshead and the following December to York where it spent its final ten years. Withdrawn from York in November 1962, it was cut up at Doncaster Works. Engraved brass, 13½"x7¾", the back stamped 515, the company name was filled at nationalisation and has been neatly painted in.
