A cabside numberplate, SOUTHERN RAILWAY, 2051, from a London Brighton & South Coast Railway B4 Class 4-4-0 No 51 WOLFERTON built by Sharp Stewart & Co, Works No 4761, in July 1901. It became SR 2051, by which time it had lost its name. It was loaned to the LNER in November 1941 initially at Neville Hill, later Bridlington and finally from July 1942 at York, returning to the Southern in December 1944. It became BR 32051, was withdrawn from Horsham in February 1949 and scrapped at Eastleigh Works the following month. Cast brass, 13½"x7½", the brass lightly polished, original paintwork, the back untouched. (Postage Band: C)
