A smokebox numberplate, 44540, from a LMS Class 4F 0-6-0 built at Crewe in 1928. It spent most of its BR days at Derby with spells at Rowsley, Bedford, Wellingborough and Leicester Midland from where it was withdrawn in May 1964 and sold for scrap to Cohens at Kettering.
