A locomotive nameplate, LADY MARGARET HALL, with extended backplate, from the GWR 6959 Modified Hall Class No 7911 built at Swindon in February 1950 and named after the Oxford college founded in 1878 as the first women's college in Oxford but which has accepted both men and women since 1979. Allocated new to Old Oak Common on 21 February 1950, it moved at the end of 1951 to Oxford where it spent the remainder of its working life. Withdrawn from Oxford on 16 December 1963, it was sold for scrap to Birds Commercial Motors at Risca on 27 October 1964. The nameplate has been restored.
