A worksplate, ARMSTRONG WHITWORTH, 1439, 1937, from a LMS Class 5 4-6-0 No 5384 which became BR 45384. Allocated to Shrewsbury by 1948, it moved in 1951 to Dundee Tay Bridge where it spent nearly nine years with late moves to Corkerhill, Ardrossan, Ayr and Stranraer from where it was withdrawn in July 1964 and sold for scrap to Arnott Young, West of Scotland Shipbreaking Co, at Troon. Cast brass, 8¼"x5", the front repainted. (Postage Band: B)
