A cabside numberplate, SOUTHERN RAILWAY 173, from a London & South Western Railway L11 Class 4-4-0 No 173 built at Nine Elms Works in September 1904. It survived into BR service as 30173 and was allocated to Bournemouth by January 1948, moving in January 1950 to Eastleigh from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 28 April 1951 and cut up at Eastleigh Works. Cast brass, 13½"x7½", the front repainted. (Postage Band: C)
