A North British Railway Tyers No 1 tablet instrument, original brass plate, ROTHBURY, used in Scotsgap box on the Wansbeck line, an exceedingly rare instrument the Rothbury branch being the last operational section using such instruments, changing over in the mid 1950s, it closed to passengers in 1952 and freight in 1963. Excellent restored condition, glass to upper case cracked. The instrument is accompanied by a Tyers No 1 tablet, which has been inscribed by the vendor with the name of the section on which the instrument was used. This is a sample tablet and has not had the centre drilled or the edge configuration cut. (Postage Band: N/A)
