£26,000
A nameplate, BUDE, with its enamel badge depicting the full coat-of-arms of the Cornish town and its West Country Class scroll, from the Southern Railway Bulleid 4-6-2 light pacific No 21C106 built at Brighton in July 1945, becoming BR 34006 and retaining its streamlined casing to the end. Allocated new to Exmouth Junction, it moved in 1951 to Nine Elms and in 1964 to Salisbury from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 18 March 1967 and taken for scrap by Cashmores at Newport on 2 August 1967. In 1948 it was one of the former SR engines chosen to take part in the locomotive exchange trials and it excelled when working Manchester to Marylebone expresses over the Great Central main line. Notably, it ran on the Somerset & Dorset Joint line on 5 March 1966, the railway's last day of public service. The nameplate cast brass, 43" long, the front repainted. A superb full set with a very manageable nameplate. STEAM NAMEPLATE SPECIAL: Buy a main line steam nameplate and we can deliver it to you promptly, free of charge.
