A locomotive nameplate, ARIEL, from the BR Standard Class 7 Britannia 4-6-2 built at Crewe in June 1951. It went new to Holbeck and reached the Western Region in 1953 via the Eastern Region spending most of its earlier years at Laira and Cardiff Canton before moving in 1961 to Carlisle Canal and later Crewe North, Llandudno Junction, Holyhead and Aston, finishing its days at Carlisle Kingmoor from where it was withdrawn in August 1967 and sold for scrap to J.McWilliam at Shettleston.
