A locomotive nameplate, NARCISSUS, incorporating its building date, L&NWRCo CREWE WORKS SEPR 1873, from a London & North Western Railway Samson Class 2-4-0 No 604, later renumbered 1694. Named after a hunter who fell in love with his own reflection in Greek mythology. Withdrawn November 1890 whereupon it was "renewed" as Waterloo or Whitworth Class No 3131 which became LMS No 5087 and was withdrawn in October 1930.
