A worksplate ANDREW BARCLAY, KILMARNOCK NB, No 748 of 1894. From a standard gauge 0-4-0ST new to Accrington Brick & Tile Co, Ltd, Lancashire where it was named NORI. Rebuilt by Andrew Barclay in 1947 under repair number 9480. Acquired by the National Coal Board at the nearby Huncoat Colliery in August 1962 as part share of assets following closure of the brickworks. Never used by the NCB and scrapped around July 1965. Cast brass, 18¾"x7¾", the front repainted. (NB = North Britain, i.e. Scotland) (Postage Band: C)
