A worksplate, VULCAN FOUNDRY, 4884, 1943, from a War Department Austerity 2-8-0 built to Ministry of Supply order in June 1943, WD No 77068. Loaned new to the GWR and the SR before returning to the WD and loaned to the LNER in November 1947 and purchased by them in the same year becoming BR 90538. Its sheds included Mexborough and Doncaster from where it was withdrawn in April 1966 and sold for scrap to Drapers at Hull. Cast brass, 9½"x5½", the front lightly cleaned. (Postage Band: C)
