A worksplate, ENGLISH ELECTRIC/VULCAN FOUNDRY 2793/D508, 1960, from a BR Class 40 No D271 allocated new to Gateshead in April 1960, renumbered 40071 in March 1974, withdrawn from Healey Mills in December 1980 and cut up at BREL Swindon in October 1981. Chromed cast brass, 10¼"x4½", ex loco condition, with dirt to the front and blue paint to the rim. (Postage Band: C)
